Going local for Father's Day

Dad and me, the Summer of 1988.

The perfect Father's Day gift can be hard to find, so this year I'm going local!

Personalizing gifts from a registry

This summer, I have the honour of acting as bridesmaid to one of my oldest childhood friends, and Saturday marked the wedding tradition of the bridal shower. As per etiquette, the bride and groom listed their registry on the invitation. Right away I knew I wanted to add a personal element, while still respecting their wish list. So it was time to think outside the box!

I thought it would be fun to wrap the gift, using one of the tea towels (I wrapped it first in white tissue paper, incase any of the box would show through).

Simple white and stripped ribbon complete the look.

Voila--Personalized registry gift!
