Rustic Brewery Wedding - Kristina and Jason

Kristina and Jason share a love for craft beer, so when they had their engagement photos taken at Port Perry's Old Flame Brewery, they knew right away they had found their reception spot! They then decided on the Palmer Park Gazebo, just steps away from the brewery as the backdrop for the ceremony. The chilly September day was truly one to remember. With all fingers and toes crossed, we willed Mother Nature to co-operate as much as possible for the outdoor portion of the event (thanks to all guests for their patience!), and the rest of the night was spent in the cozy setting of the very-cool brewery. Rustic, feminine details balanced out the masculinity of the historic building, and soft lighting and candles really added the romance factor.

Working with Kristina and her incredibly helpful groom was really an easy feat. They are surrounded by an amazing group of family and friends who lent their support in every way possible, from crafting sessions with the bridesmaids weeks prior and hands-on help with set up from both sets of parents. Guests could feel the love in the room the whole night, and surely appreciated all of the couple's sweet touches--including a late-night ice cream truck, with red carpet and all!

A Backyard Wedding Bash - Kelly and Pat

I had the pleasure of decorating and providing co-ordinator services for Pat and Kelly's backyard wedding bash this August. These two sure know how to throw a party! With a gorgeous white tent as the backdrop, their backyard was transformed into a wedding that fit their personalities to a tee. Relaxed, easy-going and FUN (I hear a pool party ended the late-night festivities!). Simple baby's-breath arrangements and bouquets for the bridesmaids were a soft accent to the burlap bunting and table runners. Pops of white lace and vintage doilies added the romance factor. It was truly an easy job to work for such a kind, grateful couple. Knowing them first as friends, and now as clients, I can't wait to see what will come next for them.

I would be remiss not to thank my dearest and nearest Brittany and Monika for helping me. Britt by day was my amazing assistant, and by night the life of the party. And Mon, for taking me on as her second child for the weekend! XO.

Crushing On

One of the first arrangements I saw Michael create at Penney & Co., was a cluster of white Poms in single bud vases. Removing all of the greenery, and cutting the stems at varying lengths, the simple vertical stems made a big impact. Bud vases are also one of the best ways to save money with your arrangements, because one bunch goes a long way. Mixed vintage bottles, different flower types in the same colour, and playing with height and levels are just a few of the ways you can make bud vases work for your decor scheme. Get inspired by my Pinterest photos below, and check out where you can buy your own bud vases in the shopping section!
